Missing Landing Area Below Deck Steps

Deck steps should always have a landing area at the bottom.  What that means is you should not be stepping off a wood deck step onto the wet grass or soil as someone could potentially slip and fall.  Some type of not slip landing area off the bottom of deck steps is required.   Proper material for a landing area could be poured concrete, paver stones or even gravel.  Some type of material that would prevent a person from a slip and fall.
